Small patties cook fast, so shaping them loosely and avoiding overcooking keeps them tender.
Ingredients
- 600 g ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 12 slider buns
- 6 cheese slices, halved
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 12 pickle slices
- 3 tbsp burger sauce
- 1 tbsp oil
Step-by-step method
- Divide the beef into 12 equal portions and shape loosely into patties slightly wider than the buns because they shrink while cooking.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper and garlic powder just before they go into the pan.
- Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat, add a thin film of oil and cook the patties in batches for about 2 minutes on the first side.
- Turn, top each patty with half a cheese slice and cook for another 1–2 minutes until safely cooked to your preference.
- Split and lightly toast the slider buns in the same pan.
- Spread sauce on the buns and add the patties, onion and pickles.
- Serve immediately while the cheese is melted and the buns are warm.
